“In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple.” – Isaiah 6:1 (NKJV)
The Word of God records several accounts of battles, and it is clear that victories are experienced after clear spiritual directions and answered prayers. The vision that Isaiah had helps us to understand what happens in God’s throne room.
Commentators have posited that in the Old Testament era, if a king of one country conquered the king of another, the conquering king would have some part of that king’s train sewn onto his robe. The long train of our Lord represents His conquering power in every battle. In God’s heavenly temple, in heaven’s throne room, there are golden bowls that represent the “prayers of the saints” (Revelation 5:8). This is awesome and reminds us that God certainly hears and answers prayers.
In Exodus 17, we have the account of Joshua fighting Israel’s enemy, the Amalekites, in a valley, while Moses, Aaron, and Hur went to the top of a hill overlooking. While Joshua and his fighters were engaged in the physical battle, Moses, Aaron, and Hur were engaged in a spiritual battle. Moses had taken the staff of God with him, which he had used to defeat Pharaoh’s army at the Red Sea (Exodus 14:16, 27). His faith in God to do it again was foremost in his mind. It became apparent to Aaron and Hur that whenever Moses’ hands were down, the Amalekites began to prevail against Israel. So, they moved immediately and began supporting his hands until the Amalekites were defeated. Thus, there is a correlation between obeying God’s instructions, prayer, and victory over the enemy.
The Word of God says to all believers:
- “for the Lord your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.” – Deuteronomy 20:4 (NKJV) and
- “…the battle is not yours, but God’s.” – 2 Chronicles 20:15
God has not changed. His words are ‘yea’ and ‘amen’ to those who believe. The Apostle Paul recognised that the enemy confronts believers on a daily basis. Hence the advice in Ephesians 6:11.
It is imperative that we prepare for daily battles since the armour of God includes truth, faith, the Gospel of peace, salvation, the Word of God, righteousness, and prayer. Always pray for wisdom and understanding. Ask El Shaddai to be your partner in every battle. Thank Him in advance for the victory, for He has never lost a battle and never will.

Yes. It was only today that I was encouraging myself that this Christian walk consist of a daily battle that we have to depend on God to help us to win. Faith is the key. I was reminded of The woman with the issue of Blood whom Jesus said
“Your faith has made yu whole….Not to have faith is a sin. Ro 14:23. Also, I was thinking of Joshua and Caleb who had a good report after spying out the land destined for their inheritance..Joshua said do not be afraid of the people…their protection is gone but the Lord is with us.Joshua had full confidence in in God’s promises to Israel.
There were 10 other spies who had a bad report and spread this reporta among the people causing the people to murmur.
The frightening thing is that God told Moses in Numbers14: 11, 12…how long will it be ere they believe me…I will disinherit them..but Moses Interceded
And while God said He will Pardon…He also said that they would not see the land.
